ohya, i was just watching the yog news & updates. ohmeaaan, how i wish i had the chance to continue swimming back in the days in spore swimming club. i always fantasise, "what if i had the right support, money parents, to go all out to pursue swimming? how different will my life be?"
i love to play sports & feel that camaraderie of being in something together with a team of people who wants to taste victory as much as you do. i dont know why, cant explain it. and i think its a privilege to be able to represent your country or team at a sporting meet, at whatever level. the sense of unity & identity, in working and then achieving the goal. :) sound like the IOC president hor?
i remember my mum telling me:"next time you be like jocelyn yeo ok? win medals for spore" waah, i really believed in that vision when i was 6/7, but sadly, it never materialised. thats why i'm still abit starstruck when i see coach jocelyn in church, she used to be my inspiration. hhaa. but then i also think about what if i'm the type of athlete who never really makes her mark? forever struggling to achieve my goals, inertia of being unable to catch up with others, ennui of always being unnoticed. dont think i can take that kind of emotional stress.
anyhow, i wish all singapore's representative all the best, even if you are 'foreign talent', when you don the spore colours, you stand for spore! :D
BRING HOME THE GLORY.
